Hi! There is some lovely winter sunshine streaming in the window. In the distance I can see the Olympic Mountains with their bright white snow cover. It is good to come up for air so to speak. A good time for TEA. I feel like everyday I've been talking to you. But clearly I haven't.
I've been busy redesigning my entire website (it isn't up yet, I'll let you know.) just so I can host my online classes in an environment of my choosing. I think people forget that as creators we can be very influenced by the environment in which we are creating. Picture creating in a beautiful studio that is just the way you like things v.s. in a generic public building. That was my choice. I could either get the classes online faster--but require participants to be in a formal feeling, online learning environment that frankly feels very blah, and well... like I might be giving you a test at the end or something. OR I could rebuild my website.
So with that I have plunged myself in to a big project. Something akin to the oft told remodeling story... "well we decided we wanted a new bathroom sink.. then we discovered the wall needed to be rebuilt, so we decided to take it down and enlarge the bathroom, but then we...
So thus what starts out as a week-long project has evolved into... well I can't say for sure because I'm still standing in the middle of the forest with naught but a machete to whack my way through. At first I did think I would use an outside company to host my classes but quickly realized that my graphic design background and artistic sensibility wanted TOTAL control.
So now instead of just working on filming and editing (which has also been a very interesting process... ahem...), I am redesigning my whole website. And of course I've decided to add other stuff too.
This is a very long way of my explaining why you haven't seen many posts from me lately. My apologies!
As you may need distraction from winter weather (forgive my northern hemisphere bias, dearest southern hemisphere-ers) here are some sunny photos from my trip to California in November.
I hope you are all well!
