This week we are in transition. One large project is out the door, and now I'm getting ready to start some others. However an excavation is in order first. Just how this happens I'm not sure-but surrounded by a whole bunch of supplies, papers and projects-it is clear that I need to clear out everything so I can have space to work on the next projects. Perhaps others are careful to clean up at the end of everyday, but I often am leaping from one deadline to another and so... well.... stuff piles up : ).
The best thing to get me excited to make something is ironically, seeing vast clear surfaces just begging to be filled up again!
Before I do that, here are some photos of bits and pieces around the house and studio-none staged! You will see that I often have things in progress...
Above and below are piles of fabrics that went into creating my new Fall class: Tatters: Paper & Fabric Collage/Journal pages. I am looking forward to making more pages and to finish sewing all the pages together. I want to have it finished for my upcoming demos at Daniel Smith in two weeks (details at the end of this post.)
This is one of those "for me" projects that only gets worked on when I can fit it in "inbetween and betwixt". I hope to get it finished to wear to Petaluma-Art is YOU! art retreat in California, at the end of September.
I hope you are having a delightful summer! I'm off to tame the studio!
