Some of you may remember my sharing images with you from Artfest, and the class I took from Orly Avineri. I am blessed to have many wonderful friends, many of whom are also artists. I count Orly among this special group in my life. She is not only a wonderful human being, she is also a very talented and expressive artist. She just let us in on a piece of very big news! She has published a book of her very own art journal pages. I love that she has taken the time (a book is a big project!) to create this so that we can all delight in the richness and truth of her work. I admire her fresh honesty, boldness, textured expressions and layered explorations.
Her book will also be available on Amazon-but if you are like me and prefer your money to go to the artist, I recommend ordering it through her store.
Me, Orly Avineri and Tara Ross at the beach in Port Townsend, WA.
We were having fun looking at the different stones on the beach. To me this typifies Orly-very engaged, and fascinated with the world around us and how visual things tap into deeper parts of ourselves.

As part of the celebrations for Orly's book, she is hosting a blog hop. Check out all these other wonderful artists and their blogs!
Above right and below: These are pieces I did in Orly's class at Artfest, Postcards from the Edge. If you ever get a chance, do take a class from her. She is very inspiring and will make you look at your work in new ways!
And until you can take a class with her, you can get lots of inspiration from her wonderful book!
P.S. If you want to see some of the pages inside Orly's new book you can get a sneak preview on Teesha's blog.
Have an artFULL day!
