Happy New Year!!
I love the illusion we create that somehow Jan. 1st is a fresh start. I like to take the new year as a time to reflect on the year past and the year ahead. I often turn to my art journal to explore and mull over my thoughts with images and words. If you'd like to join me, I'll be teaching my "Journaling In The New Year" art workshop in Seattle, on Saturday, January 14th from 10-3pm. You are welcome to join us!

Journaling in the New Year
No art experience required. Bring a journal to work in. All other supplies provided.
Ring in the new year with art journaling! I often begin the new year by celebrating the old one, and happily anticipating the new one. Art journaling is perfect for expressing your thoughts in image, color and lettering. I'll share several ideas for bringing in the new year with joy--and of course lots of yummy techniques to create a visual feast full of meaning. We'll play with layers, flaps, secret envelopes, and adding texture. You'll also get to try a variety of fun ways to add lettering with dip pens, markers, and masks. Ring in the new year and celebrate your creative self!

---------Spiffing Up for the New Year-------------
A few days ago my house was visited by a flock of robins, junkos, sparrows and finches. Many paused to take a bath in the rain puddle on top of the shed. I had so much fun watching them. It was almost as if they were getting all clean and spiffed up for the new year. Washing off the old and welcoming the new!
Happy New Year!! May it be a wonderful year for you and your loved ones!
