Every September, I forget to remember, that I resist the end of summer- and that a couple of weeks will pass and then I've embraced the arrival of autumn with enthusiasm and joy. No other seasonal change is this abrupt here, plus the shortening of our long summer days is hard to accept. But given a little time, the thoughts of earthy colors, hot tea, baking bread, crimson leaves and crisp air seduce me to the romance of fall. And every September, I forget this happens. Fall found me yesterday. And this morning I woke up desiring to bake cornbread, redecorate, listen to football games... and turn on the heat : ). Some of this may have been prompted by my visit yesterday to Anthropologie and Ravenna Garden stores. Like a thirsty traveller, my eyes drank in the harvest colors, and gathered a handful of images to share with you, so that you too may quench your thirst for this changing of the seasons.
This display feels like summer, so I imagine that the store, too, is making the transition of the seasons. After all, it was 85 degrees only last week. And today it is cloudy and gray with an expected high of 63 degrees. Well to those of you in the northern hemisphere-Happy beginning of Autumn! And now we send the sun back to our southern hemisphere friends so you too can have summer!
