Yesterday we got a wee bit of winter. In fact we got our own Snow Globe! Our mild Seattle climate was turned upside down. We got 6 inches of snow! And it was COLD. Last night it got down to 15 degrees with winds up to 60 mph! I sat mesmerized, watching the snow blow UP and all around my snug house. While it was beautiful, lots of folks were stuck in traffic trying to get home. It took my neighbor 6 hours to get home. We have very little snow removal equipment because it snows so rarely and we have lots of steep hills. When I was awake a 1:30am this morning-there were still traffic jams on the major freeways. All the schools and most offices are closed today. It is 24 degrees and sunny--and everything is frozen. When I went out this morning to my "sun porch" I got a little surprise!
Here is Sophie cat out on the porch peering over the snow on the door, probably wondering what was going on out there.
Because in less than two weeks Carla Sonheim and I are having a Holiday Open Studio--and you are invited!

Carla is a very talented artist and the author of Drawing Lab for Mixed Media Artists. She also teaches workshops in Seattle and around the country. We've both been busy cooking up fun, affordable, and unique holiday gifts. She has made some beautiful journals and other items featuring her playful drawings. There will also be handmade scarves, jewelry, handbags, and paintings by yours truly. We'd love to see you. Please stop by and say Hi!
Happy Thanksgiving to you!
