You are all invited-and if you live in Seattle it will be much easier to come-to a class I'm doing at the Daniel Smith Artist Supplies Store-in their Seattle location. I LOVE what we are going to be doing. For only $10 you'll get a two hour class, with all the supplies provided. We are going to be playing with a special kind of watercolor paint made from genuine minerals and gemstones! These paints are made in Seattle and only sold by Daniel Smith. They are the PrimaTek paints. If you've never painted with watercolor or if you have a lot of experience, but want to try these paints out-come join us! I will be introducing the paints, what they look like, some fun ways to mix them together, and demonstrating how to paint autumn leaves. I also will be bringing some of my own jewelry so you can have fun comparing the polished stones to the paint!
Primatek Watercolor Hands-on Demo
October, 2nd, 2010
SATURDAY, 12-2 pm
Daniel Smith Seattle Store
All materials supplied. $10 per person. Limited space-first come- first serve.
This page is from their catalog-showing all the colors they make. We won't be trying all of them-but you'll get to try many of the colors.
You can see what my studio table looks like right now as I'm preparing for the class. I feel like part scientist and part artist as I'm creating all these materials. And that makes sense-as I've always liked the experimentation part of science and art-both of which start with..."What happens if... , What do you get when...?"
If you are interested in learning more about watercolor, mixed media painting, photo transfers, making greeting cards or art journaling-I've posted new classes in Seattle, all the way through January! More info here.
Here's to the JOY of being creative! : ) Have a wonderful day!
