Thanks for all your wonderful comments! I'm so glad that many of you enjoyed the flower tutorial. I wish I could send everyone a book-I really do!
Art is so much fun! It is a little like cooking without a recipe. You start with a main ingredient (like fish or vegetables) and then add all the spices, sauce or breading and Wa La!! ... You've got a delectable dish of flavors. Below is the original image I tore from April 2009's Glamour magazine.
I love all the colors and playfulness of the image. Oh and I covet those boots!
I tore out the image and glued it to the page and then tossed in my version of spices and sauce: acrylic paint, gold gesso, markers, and photo transfers. I like taking a found image and making it my own. We'll be playing with these techniques in my Wild, Joyful Journaling class at Journalfest this year. I can't wait to see what everyone makes. Even though Journalfest is three months away-I am already looking forward to it! In one corner of my studio, I've got a stash of goodies I'm saving up for my students. Oh it is going to be so much fun-I just love the creative energy and joy that happens at art retreats-and this one I think is going to be even more so because of all the care and attention Teesha puts into creating her retreats.
I'm now going to pretend that I'm riding off into the sunset on my horse-want to join me? : ) Have a Wild and Wonderful Day!!!!!
