So sweet to be home-after five rich days of the delights of Artfest. I feel like one does after Thanksgiving-after weeks and weeks of preparation, after a long and delicious feast, now it is time for the post Thanksgiving nap!! : ) I will give you a full account of this wonderful experience after I've had time to catch my breath, catch up on sleep and unpack all my things. I am eager to get back into my studio and create. Such is the energy at Artfest-I was inspired continually by all the creativity-it just seems to permeate the very air we breath there. Here is one photo that captures the whole experience perfectly for me. In the Heartscapes class I taught, I had one student, Jean Wrathall, who had never done any art-and it was amazing to see her creativity bubble up and spill forth. I took the first photo while she was working away at her piece. Her words say, "Giving and Receiving are One". A lovely and so true statement and one which, for me, also sums up the Artfest experience so well. She connected the hands with a rainbow she created using different colors of wire. And seeing her real hands recreating her hands in her art, was so beautiful. Thank you Jean, for allowing me share this with everyone.
