On my desk is a wonderful collection of baubles: vintage buttons, old jewelry, velvet & silk ribbon, collected beads, silvery chains and handmade soldered charms. The charms are my handy work from this past week-little miniature worlds tucked inside their silvery frames. Looking at each grouping of carefully gathered and created objects, I feel like a six year old kid in a candy shop. Do you remember looking up at the shelves of colorful, swirly sugar confections- a joyful kaleidoscope of sugar? I thought that perhaps you too may share my love of bits of color-the magpie or crow in all of us that loves to run our hand through Grandma's button box. Whilst you enjoy these photos I'll be taking up each sweet gem and twirling it into a jeweled confection. Then I'm off to Artfest to join my fellow magpies. : ) Perhaps I'll see you there? If not, I'll share lots of photos when I return, so that you too can savor the magic that happens there.
